Getting Involved
There are a number of ways that parents, friends, and relatives can get involved and support music in the Littlestown Area School District. The easiest way is to sign up as a volunteer for one of the many activities such as concession stand work and donating your time at various events throughout the school year. If you are interested in signing up to help with the concession stand, please email Mr. Bish at [email protected].
Chaperones and Drivers
Another way to help support the music department is volunteer to be a chaperone or truck driver. A chaperone is any parent or relative that would like to help out by riding the buses to and from football games, competitions, and parades.
The role of the chaperone : You must be willing to supervise the students at all times when with the Blue Band or other ensemble. Ultimately, this is your main responsibility and should not be taken lightly. A standard of class and professionalism is expected of the students and it is the role of a chaperones and staff to model this behavior as well as correct those students that may choose to act inappropriately. This includes behavior at school, on the bus and at all times while attending games and/or competitions.
The role of the truck driver: You must be approved by the school district (transportation department) to drive our truck and trailer. It is also your job to help the students properly load and unload equipment on and off of the Blue Band Trailer. Drivers DO NOT need a CDL license to be approved, but it is highly recommended and preferred.
If you are interested in being a chaperone or truck driver for the 2020-2021 school year (or beyond), click below to download the form you need to complete. All chaperones and truck drivers MUST complete the required paperwork and obtain proper clearances to escort the students.
