2023 Show - ValhallaThis show began with our vikings searching for Valhalla using an intense performance of music from the blockbuster movie Gladiator. The second movement was a heart-wrenching rendition of Billie Eilish's No Time to Die with solo performances by seniors Peyton Small, Mason Adams, and junior Matthew Hogg. The final movement used music from the Dreamworks hit movie How to Train Your Dragon as our Vikings finally find what they are searching for.
The Blue Band had a successful season, finishing the year in 3rd place and earning the bronze medal in a new division (American Open Class) at Championships at Hatbox-Horsham High School! |
2022 Show - SubmergedWith music by James Newton Howard (King Kong Soundtrack) and Howard Hanson (Chorale and Alleluia), our show explored the mystery, natural beauty, danger, and intensity of the deep blue sea. The show also featured a beautiful trumpet solo turned trumpet duet by senior Christian K. and junior Mason A.

2021 Show - From the AshesInspired by the life cycle of a Phoenix and how it relates to our own lives - the show opens with a well-known classic by Elton John, Funeral For A Friend, then transitions to an upbeat arrangement of Ah-Ha! by Imogen Heap. We slow down with a beautiful and powerful arrangement of Atmajda, featuring trumpet duet Michael H. and Christian K. before closing the show with the exciting and dramatic Uprising! By Muse with Eden B. as the Ewi (E - wee) soloist, proving that while we may get knocked down, we will always rise again!
The Blue Band had a very successful season, finishing the year with a 92.20 at Championships at West Chester University; good enough for a bronze medal finish in the Independence Open Class division! |
2020 Show - Abbey RoadInspired by the music of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and The Beatles - the show opens with Magical Mystery Tour, then transitions to a wild arrangement of the 1968 hit Lady Madonna. This is followed by the blues rock tune Come Together that is sure to get your toe tappin’. We slow down with a beautiful arrangement of Blackbird and Yesterday, featuring trumpet soloist Michael H. and we close the show with the exciting and dramatic Eleanor Rigby!

2019 Show - PantheonInspired by the Gods of Ancient Greece, Pantheon explores the personalities of deities such as Zeus, Poseidon and Athena. Our opening number is an electrifying and powerful representation of Zeus, the King of the Gods, and is followed by the flowing yet relentless rhythms of Poseidon. The band pays tribute to Apollo, the God of Music, with a lyrical ballad until it is interrupted by the combative and aggressive Gods of War and Wisdom, Ares & Athena. Zeus then returns to resolve the conflict in a triumphant closing number.

2018 Show - SpeakeasyThe show opens with the swingin’ Zoot Suit Riot, then turns jazzy with an arrangement of Michael Buble’s version of Fever, featuring a mellophone duet. The hall gets jumping with Wizard Wheezes, from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, featuring tenor sax solo. We slow down again with the smooth Harlem Nocturne, featuring a duet by alto saxophones and close the show with a loud and raucous arrangement of Big Noise from Winnetka!

2017 Show - InventionThe show consists of music from the Cirque du Soleil show La Nouba, including Urban, Distorted, Quidam, and A La Lune. The opening moments of our show explore the inner workings of a mysterious invention with a percussion-driven initial sequence and a gear-like visual sequence! The second movement of our show symbolizes the power source for our invention with powerful melodies and fast moving visuals. Our ballad is spear-headed by a tenor sax and mellophone duet and takes us on an emotional journey through the “Eureka!” moment for our inventors. A La Lune then brings our show to a close. Will the invention work?

2016 Show - Arabian NightsThe show consists of music filled with middle-eastern elements such as Incantation and Atmadja from Cirque du Soleil: Quidam and explores the melodies of Misirlou in a mesmerizing snake-charming sequence. We then show a fun side with an upbeat arrangement of Duke Ellington's Caravan that brings an element of American jazz music to the middle-east.
Gold Medalist and Champions in Cavalcade of Bands Championships (Independence Division) and won awards for High Music, High Overall Effect Visual, and High Overall Effect Music - This band also scored the highest score on record of any Littlestown Band ever (97.1). They also went undefeated that year with 8 first place finishes. |
